The status of Mount Dieng in Central Java province upgraded from alert to Standby state. Residents were asked to weigh in the region away from the crater that has erupted Banjarnegara district.
"Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) convey, status Dieng today rose to Standby. Gunung upgraded from alert to Standby, effective May 29, 2011, at 20:45 pm," said the Special Staff of President Andi Arief Field of Natural Disasters in The short message told AFP on Monday (5/30/2011).
With the rising status of the mountain, the public is recommended to not move within a radius of 1 km from the crater Weigh.
Dieng is an active volcanic region and can be regarded as a giant volcanic crater with a crater. Mountain has several craters. Active craters are monitored is Candradimuka, Sibanteng, Siglagah, Sikendang a potentially toxic gas, Sikidang, Sileri, Sinila and Weigh equally potentially release toxic gas.
With the increased activity of this mountain, there is a flow of gas flowing as far as 50 meters to the south. Preatik because there are eruptions of mud content, gas and steam.
